I was presented with a brief that required me to present my project and future plans in a 5 minute video format.

I created the video using PremierePro, of which was the first time I used this program. I recorded all my audio clips using Audacity. I began the process by writing a script of what I was going to talk about as well as the structure for the video. I gathered all of my images that I will be using as examples and artist research images used to showcase my inspiration. I also gathered quotes that I will deconstruct, analysis and connect to my own work.

Video Proposal Script:

Audacity Software:

I started the video by expressing what my practice explores, focusing on the connection between myself and my subjects. I then stated how my project will show an intimate side to veterans.

I then spoke about my previous collaboration with the stockport veterans at the produce hall and explained the brief that I was presented, to create formal portraits in black and white. I then used Read's quote "Looking back at the concerns that form the backbone of the work and the interests which fuel it, with or without input from others, will serve to provide evidence of where they have been and point the direction for the future." My analysis of Read's quote was stating how much of an impact that working with the veteran community has affected me personally and creatively and how I did not expect it to impact me as much as it has. Made me consider creating work that has a deep message behind it. It made me want to explore options with the group and to work with the group again when I had creative control over the meaning and outcome of the project.

Scott, G (2015, P83) "Our personal visual language is determined by our ability to create from the heart."This was another quote that I used to connect to my work. This was a quote that I believed connected to my work in a deep way as my recent work has heavily depended on the connections formed between myself and my subjects. Work that has an important message behind it.

I then move my focus onto the work of Steve Pyke entitled 'WW1 Veterans' as this was my main inspiration for the direction that my work took. Exploring how by breaking rules within photography can be a beneficial area to explore.

After speaking about Pyke's work. I started to explain my current project. How Pyke's work has influenced my own and the direction that I will develop the project. When seeing the comparisons, Pyke's influence can be seen, despite it needing to be more refined.

My video began to come to a close when I showed examples of my current professional photography website. The pages that I had and the veteran work that was being showcased. In addition, I included an article that was written about my previous exhibition that has a link to on my artist statement for this project.

Premiere Pro Process:

In reflection on my video proposal, I personally believe that I focused to much on my own body of work and needed to explore more theory based aspects. Upon receiving feedback on this assignment, the feedback I got was positive and it helped me understand where I needed to take my work.
