During my final portrait shoot I had a discussion with Noel, who runs the Stockport veterans group, and Julie, who is the events manager for the group. The reasoning for this discussion was the future possibilities of collaborating further after finishing the BA (Hons) Course. They both said that they would love for me to continue to work with them. Noel approached me with the opportunity of creating a 10 minute documentary video showcasing the group. In addition to this, I was asked if I could film a Christmas video for them in which I will be commissioned.
The Christmas video, of which he has storyboards to guide my creative approach. I will be meeting with Noel to finalise all details regarding the future collaboration. This shows that I have a long term relationship with the group as after completing both videos, it will present opportunities to develop the working relationship.
Going forward I will be focusing on developing my professional relationship with the Stockport veterans and further veteran communities. This will allow me to gather references for future commissions.
My plan for the next several months is to regularly meet with the group to arrange the structure for both videos. To complete both commissions and build up my portfolio during this process.
I will be continuing to further develop my relationship with the veteran group as working with them have changed my professional practice, resulting in seeking out work that has a deep message behind the frame.
